Tales of the Northern March
Elf Wood is an ancient and pristine forest except along its southern edge, where human loggers have thinned it out. It is comprised of pine, birch, rowan, aspen, juniper, and oak and is home to a variety of animals: auroch, lynx, gray wolves, elk, horses, boars, beavers, hares, pine martens, red deer, roe deer, red foxes, red squirrels, wildcats, and brown bears. The wood elves here live in small, tree-house villages and trade with the humans of Rose Shire. Dryads, treants, and forest gnomes also make their homes here.
Scattered throughout the forest are bothies, unlocked dwellings for use by any passing through, and the elves look poorly upon those who do not keep to the etiquette of their use.
