Fetter Shire has been settled for nearly a century. Its first inhabitants were cowherds from Rose Shire fleeing the prejudice against their village of Cloverfield after its Laird was revealed to be a vampire and a warlock. It has since attracted other settlers from the south, drawn to the rich pastureland in its two glens. It now known throughout the north for the quality of its beef. It consists of seventeen villages and the bustling port town of Inverdeen.
Lord Duff is the fourth Earl of Fetter. His family hails from the south and was granted the shire for service to the king. He is a very business-minded ruler who takes a keen interest in the management of his lands. He has no thanes, instead appointing each village a reeve to oversee tax collection and settle disputes between tenants. His younger siblings and cousins are said to resent their lack of lands. Most of the nobles are knights and are known for their skill with horses, which are also bred in the glen.
