Tales of the Northern March
The Great Glen is actually a series of connected glens that bisect the Northern March from the southwest to the northeast. Lochs and rivers allow for passage from one coast to the other, making this the primary trade route through the numerous mountain ranges. Most of the glen is pine forests that are home to elves and gnomes as well as worgs, goblins, hill giants, ettins, and ogres. Those who travel the waterways here generally keep to the shores and do not delve into the depths of the woods. Winter is a perilous time, as the frost giants of Jotunheim come from their northern holds to raid, establishing camps from which to do so.
